How to Respond When Our Plans Get Interrupted

I only wanted to get a few things done in the garden before the kids started in on each other. I thought I would be witty and put them to work with me, but their attention span at two and three proved them ill-equipped for the monotonous task of weeding. I gathered materials for them to do a small activity and returned to plucking green patches of grass. The final squabble between my two toddlers sent me over the edge. After angrily gathering everything up and barking a lot of things at them I would regret later I sent them off to an early nap. Then the guilt settled in.....

It’s All Good.

Do you remember the story from grade school about the little boy who had the no good, rotten, stinking day? I was thinking about that after I had what seemed to be a really rotten day not too long ago. It all started at Target. Which is crazy right? Like what mom can have a… Continue reading It’s All Good.

Priorities

It's a new year. Then new year brings this sense of a fresh start. Who doesn't love a fresh start? I'm a little early to the new year resolutions as I really made 2019 a year of personal growth. It began with an long, overdue overhaul to my health. Through that journey I gained a… Continue reading Priorities

Still, Small Voice

I am so loud. I yell more often than I would like to admit. I yell to get my toddlers to get their act together. I yell to get my point across in a disagreement with my husband. I'm a yeller. "How do you do it?" I get this question a lot, and honestly depending on the day I answer it differently every time. My youngest, Jovee was born on Christmas. Cypress was two and a half and Sparrow was one and a half. Needless to say it has been a LOOONG winter. We've encountered days… Continue reading Surviving Three Two & Under

Thank You MoMo

Many of you may have seen the creepy pictures of the internet fiasco known as MoMo. Don't worry I will spare you the images! Nobody needs to see MoMo in their mind especially if you are like me and you have to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. No thanks. However,… Continue reading Thank You MoMo

Two Paths to Discipline

It's a cold, icy February morning here. So cold and icy we had to turn our car around and head back home after a failed attempt to head to Mom's group. So instead we're here watching Cars, and I'm drinking hot coffee from a Santa mug. I'm just looking at my children as I often… Continue reading Two Paths to Discipline
